We have designed a number of courses to help your child/student on their learning journey…..
Hi, my name is Sue and I am a qualified teacher and archaeologist. I have a passion for teaching about the past and the wonderful world of archaeology and discovery.
Have you ever had any of these challenges?
Wondered how archaeologists understand the past from the broken pieces of pottery and other material remains that they dig up?
Tried to find out more, or where to go, to get the information?
Not known how to teach your child/student about the past?
Do not know where to begin teaching about archaeology and how it relates to today’s world?
Not sure if any of the sessions fits within the curriculum?
Not found a fun way to teach which includes resources and expert advice?
Me too! That is why I have spent the last 12 years studying, teaching, uncovering and developing these courses for YOU!
I home-schooled both of my daughters for a while and was running around in circles attempting to find the best information in a concise and easy way that offered both education and fun. I didn’t find it. So I decided to create it. And now I share them for others – just like you – to save you time, energy and money.
"One of the hardest aspects of homeschooling is finding lessons and educators that are both "value for money" and "educational but fun". With Sue we have the complete package. Sue is an outstanding educator and her lessons are so informative with exactly the precise balance of hands on learning/discussion to keep the children engaged. Highly recommended." - Michelle Compton, parent.
I have had amazing results coming from all of the research and training I have undertaken.
Now I am passing my knowledge and results onto you. I have developed these sessions that teach about the past through the eyes of archaeology. The courses are 8 weeks in duration and last for about an hour. They give you a real insight into how archaeology has helped us understand more about the past in that particular period of time, and the people who lived there.
Here’s why it is a great fit for you and your child/student….
Each session is taught by me personally.
They are interactive and allow the students to ask questions as we go.
Only 10 students per session ensures the personal touch and that your child/student receives the very best of education and attention.
Saves you hours of searching for the information on the web, and not knowing how to best teach it.
Shortens your childs/students learning curve – the interaction ensures they can cement their learning by asking questions and becoming immersed in the subject.
Guarantees they will succeed in understanding the past.
The fun and educational experience will encourage your child/student to want to learn more!
"Sue really knows her subject and her passion and archaeology are contagious. School children of all ages would love this" Jeanne Robinson, teacher.
Most archaeologists are not teachers and are not sure how to plan, structure or deliver in an effective educational way.
The sessions are designed to be taught to multiple ages groups. A fair amount of my research time was spent understanding how to teach to multi age groups for the best results. I believe I have found the perfect balance for those aged 6-18.
Each sessions is broken down and taught specifically with youths in mind.
I stick to the facts and do not ‘dumb’ anything down – it is explained in such a way that the children/students ‘get it’ and can carry the information on through their adult lives.
The activities we provide at the end of each session encourage exploration and discovery of the world, within your own backyard!
Our students keep coming back!
I keep our sessions moderately priced so all can access them. With the COVID pandemic it has become harder to find the classes for your child/student to be fully engaged in. So many classes by other educators have been cancelled leaving parent and educators pulling their hair out as to what to do.
The 8 week courses usually cost $240 AUD per student, each course, but due to the current global situation we are offering them at just $160 AUD. per student, each course. That is saving you a whopping $80 per student per course! Not only is there the monetary saving but also the time saving aspect. As home-schoolers your time is precious – you can never get more time in your life, so why spend it searching for stuff when it is all right here in our courses!
I am also including some amazing bonuses for you!
Handouts from each session
Fun word-searches relating to each week
An Archaeological Glossary for the course
All of the above can be included in your portfolio for the moderators. Demonstrating your education, participation, involvement and interaction which includes the activities from each week!
We offer a 14 day money back guarantee – so if after the first coupe of lessons you are not happy, involved, cannot settle, or the sessions are not what you thought we give a full refund.
"After 5 years of classes both my son and daughter are having a blast!. Sue is not only very informative but understanding to the various ages of the kids present. I believe she manages to split the classes well between the theory and practical aspects of her classes. All up Sue is a great educator and is a benefit to my kids’ education." Denise Cole, parent.
