Oliver’s Mount.

Fortified manor house which had a square tower measuring 27ft square and a rectangular chamber. The base of the Octagonal tower was along the wall.

There may have been iron workings on the site.

Possibly held by the Poher family.

 

13th-14th C                   Possibly built by Ralph Todeni.

1642-1651                   Between: William Chylde held the castle against Oliver Cromwell.

1701                            Glasshampton Manor built on the site.

1837-1901                   Glasshampton Manor burnt down.

1928                              Excavated.
