1275                             Sir John Trussell was owner of the manor,

1338                              Licence to crenellate granted to John Trussell by Edward III.

1357                             Sir Willian Trussell fought with Edward, the Black Prince at the Battle of Poictiers in France.

1367                             Licence to Crenelate granted to turn his manor into a castle.

1380                            Sir William was Governor of Calais Castle. But died this year.
