Medieval Town defences. Town enclosed by a ditch and internal bank with a wall on top. Gatehouses to the north and south. The bank measuring 9.8ft high and the ditch measuring approximately 55.7ft wide and 9.8ft deep.

The ditch is filled in to the east, near the castle site and the north side of the earthworks were levelled.

North gate in ruins and parts of the wall can be seen.
