Post Medieval town defences, Royalist town ditch.

1643-1644                   Civil War: Constructed by the Royalist garrison with the ditch measuring 11ft wide and over 6ft deep.

1986                            Victoria Street excavated by Trent and Peak Archaeological Trust.

1990                            Millgate House excavated by  Lindsey Archaeological Services, Trent and Peak Archaeological Trust.
