Medieval Motte and bailey castle with the motte measuring 50 m diameter at its base and standing 6.5 m above the surrounding ditch. There are two causeways across the wide ditch.

The ruins of the castle were used for the house.

Held by the Mortimer family. Held by the de Hay family of Snodhill, William Henry de la Hay esq.
