War Ditches

Early – Late Bronze Age or Iron Age circular enclosure, enclosing 2 ha and defended by a bank and ditch. Ditch measuring 8 m wide and 3.5 m deep. Site levelled and partially destroyed.

Roman pottery kiln found. Nearby Roman buildings took advantage of the ditches. 

Finds include early Iron Age pottery.

Possible site where the Iceni were overthrown by the Belgae.
